ABSTRACT
As we have seen, making judgements about an area of land depends on the social, cultural and environmental values of society and the social and ecological and cultural context of the place itself. The values that underpin this book are socially, culturally and environmentally motivated but only begin to address and work within existing social and economic constraints.
