ABSTRACT

It is advisable for the site manager and other principals to visit the site and familiarise themselves with the layout and geography of the area. In particular position of roads, means of access, restrictions in force etc. A layout plan can be prepared, showing position of the building and runs of various services. Scale cut outs can then be used to site temporary hutting to the best advantage. Before the building commences certain formalities must be observed:-

1. Notify district surveyor or building inspector giving all necessary details. 2. Notify local authority and obtain licence if a hoarding is necessary. (Hoarding

encroaching on footpath must have warning lights.) 3. Obtain permission from local authority for temporary access if required. Police may

require details of vehicular access. 4. Enquire from L.A. times when excessive noise is restricted. e.g. compressors etc.
