ABSTRACT
Chipboard (wood particle board) consists of wood residues compressed together with urea formaldahyde or other adhesive. Although more stable than solid timber and much more tolerant of the dryness of central heating, chipboard is affected by atmospheric changes and will swell on becoming damp.
