BS 449:1969 The use of structural steel’ is the relevant BS for the design and construction of structural steelwork.
Structual steel now conforms to BS 4360:1972 ‘Weldable structural steel’, which is based on I.O.S. (International Organisation for Standardisation) recommendation R360-Structural steels. Weathering steel is now included.
