Charity law and social inclusion in New Zealand

New Zealand completed its charity law review process when parliament passed the Charities Act on 13 April 2005, Part I of which came into effect on 1 July 2005. However, as the operative provisions are confined to definitional matters and establishing the Charities Commission and as no date has been set for introducing the bulk of the Act, the legal framework is considered as at the time of writing.
