ABSTRACT
The Sorin Carbostent is a new generation stent with a unique cellular design developed to avoid stress concentration and elastic distortion, which may stimulate exuberant intimal proliferation and long-term in-stent restenosis. Another peculiar feature of this stent is a turbostratic carbon permanent coating (Carbofilm™), which has demonstrated high hemocompatibility and non-thrombogenic properties.
