ABSTRACT
An exposed structure is devised either as a completely independent structure supporting the external skin and other elements, such as canopies, or as an extension of an internal primary structure. In the second case, there are instances when it is necessary to penetrate the cladding to make connections between the internal and external members. Typical details are reviewed in the following section.
