ABSTRACT
Early in 1942 Slocum became NID(C) and was attached to Rear-Admiral John Godfrey’s Naval Intelligence Division, and his position vis-à-vis Naval Commands and establishments was thereby enhanced. In March 1942, he relinquished responsibility for SIS’s air operations, which were on an increasing scale, to a new Air Ministry Liaison Section. Thenceforward, he dealt with sea operations only.
