ABSTRACT
Scotland’s built heritage is a rich tapestry which illuminates the nation’s history from the earliest times. The thread reaches from prehistoric standing stones to medieval castles and formal great gardens through to Georgian houses, Victorian factories and Second World War defences. This fascinating built heritage has an important role in promoting a wider understanding and appreciation of Scottish culture. As an education resource it is truly inspiring!
