ABSTRACT
Interviewed in this volume about his links with Birmingham and the region, the architect Will Alsop remarks:
I remember Birmingham being the epitome of modernity. I remember people making movies about the wonders of the car being this moving platform from which to view the city. Birmingham was the future-in a sense it has been the future, but that bit of the future is worn out now and we need a new one.
