ABSTRACT
The 1980s saw renewed attention by feminist scientists and sciencescholars to highly publicized findings of the 1970s and early 1980s that boys are better than girls at mathematics and other areas necessary for educational and economic success. Many scientists at that time interpreted their findings as explaining the prevalence of men in higher-paying and higher-status jobs.
