ABSTRACT
Mankind has traditionally sought to provide protection from climatic conditions in order to create an appropriate environment for fulfilling his different activities. An understanding of climatic phenomenon, the use of building materials of acknowledged characteristics, and simple methods of construction allowed early desert-dwellers to create the right atmosphere in the interior space. However, even in hot-arid regions, differences in climatic conditions led to a diversity of solutions to domestic architecture.
