ABSTRACT

After consultation with her siblings, the daughter selected one of the best assisted-living residences in the area and Mrs. Brandt took up residence there. Since her arrival, the director of the facility has

discussed with the daughter that her mother refuses to take her meals with the other residents, will not avail herself of the many scheduled activities, and has lost weight since becoming a resident. Mrs. Brandt’s daughter is worried because her mother was always actively involved in the community and volunteered many hours with her church. Her minister was asked to pay her a visit and he found a drastic change in her.
