ABSTRACT

Anger is a component of loss, and most individuals and families experience loss when encountering a disability. Expressions of anger toward a higher power are often developmental and expected in the face of losses associated with a disability. Although for most this can lead to a deeper understanding of the role of spirituality in their lives, some become mired in anger and find themselves unable to establish meaningful dialogues with a higher power or to participate in faith communities.
