ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the ways in which organizations “go international,” besides starting a foreign operation “from scratch” or just expanding internally. This includes the use of cross-border acquisitions, international joint ventures and alliances. Increasingly, these strategies are the “methods of choice” used by enterprises as they internationalize for many reasons. So this chapter looks at the important role IHRM performs in the implementation of these internationalization strategies.
