ABSTRACT
You will realize from the last chapter that there are two alternative ways of dealing with the planning aspects of a proposed alteration/extension but I am going to go through the basics again.
Let us assume for the time being that you have prepared your plans and that you wish to submit them for approval. For a simple application there could be one of two alternatives, which are as follows:
(1) A letter to the Planning Department (enclosing a copy plan), requesting confirmation that the proposals are Permitted Development.
