ABSTRACT

I’m part of a trend – one of an increasing number of people who are turning to Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). Moreover I will, when I qualify as a CAM practitioner, represent the two most predominant statistical data – being female and aged in mid forties – associated with CAM practitioners (Andrews et al, 2003; Sharma, 1991, 1995). This chapter is about my journey into a CAM called Shiatsu. I’ve related the general features of my account to the current literature.
