ABSTRACT

The megaliths of northern Europe that are the principal subject of this work do not, of course, represent an isolated development, but belong to a much wider northwest European phenomenon, which stretches all the way to the Atlantic along the continental coastline and to the British Isles, with further enclaves along the Mediterranean and across to the North African coast.
