ABSTRACT
To some extent education is a vision of the future, since children in school today may still be alive eight decades after leaving full-time education. The opening chapter of my 1997 book The Cubic Curriculum analysed what the future may hold for young citizens who will probably live through most, if not all, of the twenty-first century, and how this might affect the school curriculum.
