ABSTRACT
Eight years after a major study of appraisal, we reported our three-year research into performance-related pay. This is the summary chapter (Chapter 9) of our 2004 book Performance Pay for Teachers, describing the views of over 1,100 headteachers and several hundred teachers on the implementation of the government’s performance-related pay policies.
