ABSTRACT
[Shaw] might have been churlish about the knowing giggles of an audience all too ready to read more into the cross-dressing than Shakespeare ever imagined. [T]he night I saw the production, a lot of the laughs seemed to have less to do with the text than with the double-entendres sought out by the audience.
