ABSTRACT
I was reluctant to address the Rosenberg trial because it has never been a significant event for me, historically, politically, nostalgically. Still, I have no desire to estrange myself from those for whom it was and is deeply significant, and having floated about in left-leaning academic culture on the East Coast for twenty years, I know that includes a lot of my closest friends.
