ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the Prologue mode. The direct integration of the title sequence into the narrative can result in an attenuation of the titles to the point of disappearance. In expositions of this type, the narrative begins immediately, running throughout the opening credits. The understanding of these designs depends on their location: when placed at the start of the narrative, it presents causes whose effects are the development of the narrative; when placed at the end, as an epilogue, it presents effects whose causes are the conclusion to the narrative.
