ABSTRACT

Davey Jones had worked for WidgetMart for 10 years. He had begun as a technical writer, documenting procedures for the company’s point-of-sale system, but had taken on a number of other responsibilities over the years. Because of his increasing knowledge of store operations and personnel, and the lack of formally trained instructional designers, Davey had been thrust into the roles of both instructional designer and stand-up trainer, responsible for teaching everything from new procedures to interpersonal skills.
