ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the ethnographic study of another ritual deriving from The Greek Magical Papyri referred to as the ‘Mithras Liturgy’. The participant observation of this ritual enacted by an informant referred to as the ‘Magos’ took place in England and is presented in the primary source as a ‘ritual of immortalisation’ by obtaining ascension and consultation with the highest god Helios-Mithras-Aion.
