ABSTRACT

People, the younger groups go for the hot neighborhoods. Brands are names or symbols that distinguish one thing from another. Corporate brands are usually easy to identify by associated logos, such as the famous Nike swoosh or Coca-Cola’s signature red and white design. Brand identity is the unique set of associations an organization tries to promote itself as having. As Phillips et al. explain, brand identity, too, is multifaceted and usually includes elements such as brand personality and brand equity. Key to creating a brand identity via urban design are having “notable and noticeable” architecture, and using a relatively well-known designer especially related to signature buildings. Neighborhood design is part of neighborhood identity by giving the place a certain look and feel. In the City of Orlando, as in other communities, signage programs are a major way to give neighborhoods their own identities.
