ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 discusses multiple equilibriums. In reality, there often exist multiple Nash equilibriums in a game. When multiple equilibriums exist in the same game, the way in which participants coordinate expectations becomes the key to cooperation. We discuss how institutions and cultures coordinate predictions to help people select certain Nash equilibriums. This includes coordinating conflicts between different cultures. We also discuss the issue of institutional path dependency.
