ABSTRACT

Although China initiated globalization during the agriculture-pasturing period, the country missed a historic opportunity to be recognized as the forerunner of globalization. Specifically, the treasure voyages by Zheng He during the Ming dynasty occurred earlier than the voyages of Columbus and were conducted on a greater scale, thereby highlighting China’s technological achievements. However, it was Europe that gained historical recognition for discovering the “New World” and promoting the industrial revolution and formation of the global market.
