ABSTRACT

This chapter describes possible approaches to team-teaching a course on the Beatles. By combining our skills at examining lyrics and analysing the group’s music, we offer students a balanced approach to studying the Beatles’ storied output. Ours was a true collaboration. Together we made all decisions regarding choice of text, grading, and which songs to teach. Whether they teach on their own or with a colleague, instructors may benefit from our collaboration and incorporate some of our techniques in their courses.
