ABSTRACT

Imagine it is the worst winter you remember—it’s bitter cold, dark, and dreary, and your school has called more snow days this year than in the last decade or more. Less than a month ago, a male high school student was riding his bike without a helmet, was hit by a car, and died from blunt force injuries to his head and neck. If you were a staff member in this school, in the last month you would have spent one to two weeks of intense crisis intervention and another week or two of things getting back to normal.
