ABSTRACT

From the beginning, the members of the research team shared their belief in designing an in-service training and support programme which reflected the values of cooperation which, it was hoped, the teachers would promote in their classes. So, although the team began with clear ideas about how they wanted to heighten awareness of CGW and create opportunities for the practice of the skills of cooperation, they were also in agreement that they wanted the teachers themselves to be actively involved in designing the activities, in evaluating them and in forming support groups for one another.
