“There were one or two places that were rather ragged,” President John Kennedy said, as he turned his attention away from NBC’s questioners, Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, toward presidential press secretary Pierre Salinger, who’d been listening in to the Oval Office interview. “I thought we almost might think of doing them over,” Kennedy continued. “We were somewhat general about South Vietnam.”
