ABSTRACT

As a factor in education and teaching the very close connection that exists between body and mind is frequently overlooked, but so close is this partnership that they are not so much two as one. They may be likened to the two halves of a wheel; where one half goes, the other must of necessity follow. We know in a general way that mind affects the body, and the body in return influences the mind, but we wish to show more specifically how close and important is this connection. Teachers will frequently find that in addition to being “guide, philosopher, and friend” to their pupils they may also have occasionally to act in the capacity of doctor.
