ABSTRACT

The hiring process is not unique to the game industry, but that industry's approach to hiring does have some unique elements. This chapter presents an overview of hiring practices, including the ways corporate culture can influence the way companies in general seek suitable employees. It also discusses in considerable detail the personal characteristics that are particularly sought after within the game industry itself. Finally, the chapter concludes with a general overview of landing a job, with advice on the interview process and negotiations upon getting hired.
