ABSTRACT

Teamwork is something that nearly every industry and work place encourages. The games industry is no exception, and game development is almost exclusively built around teams. These teams evolve and devolve during the course of a project, and this chapter follows those changes both from the perspective of the current stage of the product and from the four main disciplines involved in game production. The chapter also builds on concepts introduced in Chapter 6, “Teamwork Part One,” which dealt with teams and team building within the college environment. The emphasis in this chapter, by contrast, deals with the sorts of issues that confront a team in real-world settings, where budgets and reputations are on the line.
