ABSTRACT

This chapter explains both about social actors and subjectivities. A number of actors or subjectivities are mentioned in the quote, each with a specific role to play in the rationality of global competition. The analysis of subjectivities will contribute with a deeper understanding on how the rationalities and technologies are assembled and legitimized as a ‘reason’ or a reasonable way to understand and govern social reality. By offering a hidden or future potential for competitiveness and growth in the case of women and immigrants, by contributing to innovations needed in order to compete or by supplying knowledge needed to navigate in policymaking the different subjects of expertise help out. The chapter aims to examining how the social actors that are directly connected to notions of expertise are articulated and how the rationalities of global competiveness are central for the specific articulations.
