In conclusion, it may briefly be pointed out that the tidyingup and the naming of mental processes is the indispensable preparation for fully understanding them in their true nature, which is the task of Insight (vipassana). These functions, exercised by Bare Attention, will help in dispelling the illusion of compactness (ghana-vinibbhoga) of mental processes; they will also be helpful in tracing their specific nature or characteristics, and in noticing their momentary arising and disappearing.
