ABSTRACT

The BMDP system consists of a number of programs that provide a powerful, flexible capability to perform statistical analysis. It has versions that run on a wide range of mainframe computers, DOS-based personal computers, personal computers running Microsoft Windows, and UNIX workstations. The heart of the system consists of 44 separate statistical programs. To facilitate the use of these programs the VAX and all PC and UNIX versions provide menu-driven interfaces. These interfaces have a slightly different appearance in each version, but they all perform essentially the same tasks. Each of these provides the following:

A MENTOR utility that facilitates automatic generation of BMDP commands.

A built-in editor for creating or revising BMDP command files.

A data import/export utility. The formats supported depend on the platform.
