ABSTRACT
We discuss here briefly the definition and scope of simulation and its several aspects. Because terminology varies in the literature, the definitions that follow are common but not universal. To avoid confusion and a lengthy lesson in semantics, alternative interpretations and nuances are not presented; however, these can be found in detail in Kleijnen (1974, Ch. 1).
