ABSTRACT

Compliance to specified requirements during system acquisition is assured by first auditing and then monitoring the supplier’s reliability plans, organizational functions, their interfaces and engineering analyses as well as by participating in design reviews, witnessing formal tests and conducting source inspections. Results of an audit and subsequent monitoring evaluations are used to track the implementation status and effects of the reliability program and to rate and compare different programs and the elements within them. This chapter discusses reliability program evaluation, provides a series of questions to be used in conducting an effective audit and provides extensive guidelines for program monitoring.
