ABSTRACT

A great number of studies have dealt with the concept of participative management, what factors enhance it, what factors detract from it and what factors influence whether or not it will even work. A review of the literature was necessary to help determine the factors involved in defining whether or not other studies that were done previously even addressed the issues that were targeted or if they were pertinent, what the results were. The studies reviewed were divided into one of seven categories, increased communication, quality circles (QC), quality of work life (QWL), joint decision making, conflict resolution, increased job satisfaction, increased cooperation and productivity (Glaser, 1973).
