ABSTRACT
Various segments of the respiratory system manifest different patterns of susceptibility to any given carcinogen. There seems to be a general pattern of response of the respiratory tract with regard to different classes of carcinogens, distinctly affecting certain portions of the respiratory tract and inducing morphologically different types of lesions and tumors. The response also varies when different species of animals are used.
