ABSTRACT
The overall analysis of risk due to an environmental contaminant has been systematised by the National Academy of Sciences (NRC, 1983). In this approach, the risk assessment is composed of two parts; namely, hazard assessment and exposure assessment. Associated with the risk assessment in the overall analysis is the area of risk management.
