ABSTRACT
The biggest constraint in the agriculture of developing countries is the nonavailability of chemical fertilizers at reasonable prices. Nitrogenous fertilizers in particular have been recognized as the limiting factor in food production. 1 By 1985, the anticipated demand for fertilizers in the developing countries will be about 85 million mt of which about 30% constitute nitrogen fertilizers. 2
