ABSTRACT

Infrared spectroscopy has been used for many years as a means of identifying and quantifying the constituents present in gaseous samples. As a result, a large number of infrared spectra have been published either in the form of handbooks or index cards (many of them by the chemical industry). For most industrial applications, resolution is not crucial, and the majority of spectra presented in previous publications have moderate to low resolution (i.e., not better than 1cm-1).
