ABSTRACT

Simulation of torque-free movements of the human body was originally initiated by space scientists (McCrank and Seger, 1964; Kane and Scher, 1970; Passerello and Huston, 1971). The main issue in these studies was the effectiveness of the proposed reorientation movements for astronauts in space. Although the models employed and the movements studied were fairly simple, they laid a frrm foundation for the simulation of more complex torque-free movements.
