ABSTRACT

The fourth largest group of women with AIDS falls into the CDC category of "undetermined.'' It is believed that the women who fall into this category represent second-generation transmission; that is, their partners may not themselves be in high-risk groups, but may have had sex with others in a high-risk group. Many of the women in this group may be partners of men who are covering up their intravenous (IV) drug use, HIV-seropositive results, or sexual practices.
