ABSTRACT

Having mentioned the plural of such verbal substantives aa walk shot, kiss, we may remind the reader of the other kind of "nexus substantives," those containing a predicative, such as stupidity, kindness, folly. These also may be put in the plural, though, as remarked above, they are then changed from masswords into countables (as they are indeed when the singular is used with the indefinite article; a stupidity = 'a stupid act, an mstance of being stupid ').
