ABSTRACT
Human crying as a medical disorder has largely been neglected by medical investigators with only a few comprehensive reviews in the literature. There is no unifying classification system and the terminology used to describe this condition is confusing. This chapter reviews what is known about the anatomy and pathology of normal and pathological human crying (PC), the clinical syndromes associated with pathological crying, and current treatments of it.
