ABSTRACT
Research in the SPACE project studied the ideas of children about what was happening inside hens’ eggs that were being incubated in the classroom. The most popular idea was that there was a miniature but mainly complete animal inside the egg, feeding on what was there. This is evident in the drawings made by the children when asked to depict what they thought was inside an egg while it was incubating.
